Chris Pahlow is a writer/director based in Melbourne. His debut feature film PLAY IT SAFE was released theatrically in September 2015, with TheMusic.com.au praising it as a film that would “resonate with every struggling musician you know” and a number of reviews noting Chris as a “talent to watch”.

In addition to developing his own original film and television projects, Chris is currently working as a freelance screenwriter. He is co-writing a number of projects with Jaime Browne, and helped pen Clayton Jacobson’s next feature film Sibling Rivalry (currently in production). Chris is also currently co-writing two other feature projects with Clay, including The Girls (scheduled to be Clay’s next film after Sibling Rivalry), and Distant Runners (story by David Michôd).

Chris is a big believer in independent cinema and is passionate about helping young filmmakers find their voice. In 2015 he co-hosted the The Movie Pack podcast with Clayton Jacobson (KENNY). He currently teaches acting (with a focus on improvisation) at Verve Studios, and has also taught Film Production at both Swinburne and Deakin Universities.
